Waarom goed leren bewegen?

What is learnt in childhood lasts a lifetime

Young children are becoming less and less active, which is a cause for concern, as the most significant motor development takes place in the early years of life. If you engage in plenty of varied physical activity from a very young age, you learn how to use your body and develop the most important muscle groups. These muscles will stand you in good stead later in life. This makes it easier to perform movements more quickly and effectively in the future. Learning to move properly from an early age also influences how children absorb, understand and process knowledge. Children who get plenty of exercise in a fun way at a young age are more likely to grow up healthy and well-balanced.

The skills children acquire at a young age through the Miffy exercise lessons stay with them wherever they go – whether they’re playing hockey, swimming, doing gymnastics, playing football or playing in the playground. An early introduction to physical activity combined with fun increases the likelihood that children will feel good about themselves, have greater self-confidence and adopt an active lifestyle. Children who take part in the sessions make progress in terms of motor skills, physical fitness, mental well-being and cognitive development. It is therefore no coincidence that developing movement skills from an early age is one of the pillars of the National Sports Agreement.

A good foundation in motor skills ensures a lifetime of enjoyment through physical activity!
